Coroner's Office: Three John and Jane Doe Cases Identified
9/3/2009 - Because of advancements in fingerprint search systems, Kim Gillis, a deputy with Sacramento County Coroner’s office who works their unidentified cold cases, has been resubmitting fingerprints to state and federal agencies hoping for a match. In June 2009, she was notified of a successful match on the first case. Two other matches soon followed.

05/21/2007 - The 14-year-old male pronounced dead at the UCD Medical Center on Saturday, May 19, 2007 at 0719 hours has been identified as Jeremiah Davis (DOB: 05/05/1993).

Identity of Man Discovered After Two Decades
06/19/06 - The mystery of the identity of a man found dead in downtown Sacramento in July of 1985 has been solved, according to Sacramento County Coroner Robert Lyons. In February, while running a fingerprint check against the Federal Bureau of Investigation’s data base, the State Department of Justice received a positive match on this 26-year-old “cold case.” The man, identified as Laurence Goodboo, was 45 years old at the time of his death, and is presumed to have been a transient with chronic health problems.

03/26/06 - The Sacramento County Coroner’s Office received four homicide cases this weekend, March 25 – 26. Due to many inquiries from members of the media, the following update is being released. Additional updates will be made pertaining to the cause of death on two decedents at the completion of the autopsies. Please refrain from calling until Monday, as our deputies are overwhelmed with calls making it difficult to complete the investigations.

Help needed in Coroner's Cases of Unidentified Man
06/17/05 - The Sacramento County Coroner’s Office is seeking help from the media in generating attention for a case in which the identity of a white male found nearly twenty years still cannot be determined. Traditional forensics could not lead to a positive identification. Barbara Anderson, the forensic artist used by the Sacramento Police Department, has recently completed an excellent sketch of how we believe the man looked.
